State of Play Doubles Up on September 3

PlayStation has turned September 3 into a double bill. The first State of Play begins at six in the morning Pacific, nine Eastern, three in Central Europe and ten at night in Japan. Sony says it will carry updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, then close with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation. Immediately afterward, Yuki Kaji hosts State of Play Japan, with deeper segments from studios in Japan and across Asia. There is no announced running time or full line-up. Two broadcasts are confirmed, Final Fantasy closes the first, and almost everything between those points remains a surprise. The footage underneath us is Square Enix’s current Planet’s Crisis trailer, not a leak from Thursday’s show.

That trailer establishes the Weapons, the Highwind and a FITS system that gives outfits specialized roles and abilities. Square Enix also names Typhon, parachutes, grappling hooks and Chocobo mounts, with battles reaching the air and sea floor. Those are the baseline, not Thursday’s checklist. Spring 2027 remains the release window. Sony has not announced its length, subjects or new release information. State of Play may deepen systems already shown, reveal a different part of the world, or do both. Until it airs, the appointment is the fact. Final Fantasy VII Revelation gets the closing slot, and State of Play Japan follows immediately afterward. The double bill begins in three days, and its safest confirmed headline is already a large one.
