Story setup
Pokémon Pokopia’s August plans split across a free update and a paid expansion, and the distinction is surprisingly tidy. Nintendo says every player gets Dive: Ditto can explore the ocean floor, plant grass, build structures and create underwater towns. Bubbly Basin, Part 1 of the Expansion Pass launching August 5, adds a finished underwater settlement, furniture, outfits and more Pokémon. One side expands the toolset; the other supplies a destination shaped around it. That pairing avoids the common expansion problem where a new zone has little effect on what players actually do. An underwater setting cannot guarantee deeper building, but it gives this update a practical question the trailer can answer: how different does construction feel once the ground is gone? Watch Ditto move from the surface into the water, and where the free mechanic ends and the paid area begins.
After the trailer
Ditto dives, lays out the ocean floor and then reaches a bright settlement. The trailer makes the product split easy to read without a comparison chart. GamesRadar reports that Manaphy teaches Dive to all players; Expansion Pass owners need Environment Level 5 at Bleak Beach before entering Bubbly Basin. That requirement attaches the paid town to progress already made in the base game. The building tools will have to supply the staying power, but at least the expansion has added a verb, not only a postcode. Adam, Helldivers is next.
